Red Sauce is billed as the approachable, family-friendly neighborhood dinner spot. If Red Sauce is as straightforward as it sounds, the Park Hill eatery opening November 5 will be an every-night option for Italian-American classics.

Brought to the neighborhood by chef Jon Robbins and Megan Silvertooth, business partners behind the upscale Bistro Barbès, Red Sauce offers something more approachable. Think red checkered as opposed to white table cloths. The space should feel homey inside 2230 Oneida Street in East Park Hill. Its menu will be “unapologetically Americanized,” serving East Coast specialties such as spaghetti and meatballs, linguini and clams, chocolate Brooklyn blackout cake, and cannoli.

Just about everything will be made from scratch except for pastas (dried and imported) and breads (from Bluepoint Bakery). Three wines on tap, Prosecco, Italian cocktails, and a handful of beers will make up the adult drinks menu.

Chef Sean Kelly’s Desmond’s Bar & Grill formerly occupied the building but closed in July.

Both Kelly and Robbins operate businesses inside Denver Central Market — Robbins owns Temper Chocolates and Kelly has SK Provisions.
